Neil Alexander was one of those released by Robbie Neilson this summer with the veteran ‘keeper penning a one-year deal with Premiership rivals Aberdeen.

Aberdeen have boosted their goalkeeping options recently with the 38-year-old heading to Pittodrie, where he could (he wouldn’t be expected to be the first choice ‘keeper mind) come up against Hearts next season?

Good luck to him, well unless he does face us!

Paul Gallacher has had a move to Hearts confirmed with us also knowing this will see him take up a player-coach role with the club.

He rejected a new deal with Partick Thistle to pen a two-year deal at Tynecastle.

The 36-year-old has had it confirmed by Neilson he’ll ‘primarily be a coach’ but he has been registered as a player too with the boss knowing he’ll ‘be ready if called upon.’

Jack Hamilton needs first-team experience, which could see him become the no.1 in the coming season but the expectancy is another arrival will come and that might see the 22-year-old sent out on loan with Gallagher acting as a new arrivals back up?

Following his arrival he told the Official Website this wasn’t a move he could turn down.

‘I got a phone call from Robbie and after speaking to him I was really excited about the prospect of joining such a massive club. The club`s thriving and the team is in Europe, so it was a no-brainer really and an offer that I couldn`t turn down.’

This role being a player-coach role appealed more so to him, adding.

‘The fact that it`s a player-coach role made it very appealing. I know they`re looking to bring someone else in as well but I`ll keep myself fit and be ready if they need me. First and foremost I`m passionate about working with the goalkeepers here and improving them, from academy level up to the first team.’
