With Kenny Anderson failing to feature this season for Hearts it isn’t really too surprising he’s been released, which was confirmed today.

Anderson was under contract with the Jambos until the end of the season but the signing from RKC Waalwijk in February last year has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent so he’s left the club immediately and will now seek pastures new.

Dutch born but capped by Scotland at U17 level, the midfielder had spent three-years with Waalwijk before his arrival towards the end of the Scottish Championship season when he signed an 18-month deal but the last of his nine appearances (he also scored once) for the club came last season.

The 23-year-old had his exit announced on the Official Website with this brief statement issued.

‘Kenny Anderson has left Heart of Midlothian Football Club by mutual consent. The Dutch midfielder signed for the Jambos last February and made nine appearances in a maroon jersey, scoring one goal. The club thanks Kenny for his efforts and wishes him all the best in the future.’
