Banks Signs Hearts Contract

According to local news reports, Hearts goalkeeper Steve Banks has signed a new contract that will keep him at Tynecastle until the end of next season.

Banks has played the last four matches since Craig Gordon was axed by the Hearts management and although he has very large shoes to fill, he’s let absolutely no-one down.

I’m sure that we’re not quite as comfortable watching Banks play for Hearts as we would be with Gordon playing, but considering the circumstances of Banks’ inclusion in the side, I think he’s done extremely well and he should be given enormous credit for that.

It looks likely that Gordon will leave us at the end of the season, so in that case this piece of business is a good one by the club.

It’s just a pity that they can’t treat Craig Gordon with the respect that Steve Banks clearly has for the supporters of the club.

Even more proof that Gordon is away at the end of the season.
Instead of a keeper the club could probably have got 4-5m for if there were several interested parties is probably going to go in the summer for closer to £2-3m because he has been out of action for 6 months. But of course Romanov knows what he is doing!!
