Reports this morning are suggesting that former Hearts midfielder Julien Brellier is in signing talks with Rangers.

The French midfielder, who was arguably the most popular player at Tynecastle during his all too short spell there, left the club after nearly two years of being treated appallingly by the coaching staff
and those above them.

Brellier is said to be very fond of Scotland and it should come as no surprise to anyone that there’s every chance of him remaining here and signing for one of our biggest rivals. Indeed I remember writing about this possibility on at least a couple of occasions, although I did believe that his most likely destination would have been Parkhead rather than Ibrox.

Obviously we hope that Brellier does not sign for one of the Old Firm, as for the first time this summer one of those clubs will have seriously strengthened their squad……..and it will be at the expense of ours…..needlessly too. In a way, if JB does do this and come back to bite us, perhaps Romanov will finally get the message that he doesn’t know football as well as proper coaches do. Then again…….
