This week’s poll ended with 70% of you agreeing that the treatment of cult hero Julien Brellier has been poor to say the least.

Brellier left the club at the end of last season after consistently being made to feel unwanted by certain key figures at the club.

The people responsible for this clearly did not have the best interests of the team at heart, as anyone who appreciates football would tell you that a fully fit Brellier made for a much stronger Hearts team.

But alas we must now finally change the record and move on. We should all be hoping for another signing of Brellier’s ilk though, as this is surely required if Hearts are to challenge for any honours next season? The midfield area is far too lightweight to put in any sort of sustained challenge at the top of the league, with or without Larry Kingston.

And I’ll tell you one thing, if Michael Stewart is supposed to be the replacement for Le Juge, then we may as well forget it right now! Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt for now though and assume that he isn’t…

  • That pal of Pinilla’s, Iturra I think he’s called, that we’re currently being linked with, is predominantly a defensive midfielder (though he can play on the right side as well). Plus he’s an international with 15 caps, so shouldn’t be any trouble getting a permit if we get him. We might be saying “Brellier who?” come April/May next year.
