Hearts winger Deividas Cesnauskas looks likely to extend his deal at the club by another year.

‘Chesney’ spent most of last season out injured, but in the season before he did do enough to suggest that he could be an asset for the club, if perhaps not a player you’d have in the team every single week.

Cesnauskas is almost your stereotypical pacey winger: infuriatingly inconsistent to the point where he can be either devastating or absolutely rubbish! But out of all the right wingers that we’ve had in the last couple of years (and there have been a LOT!), he’s arguably been the most effective. Mikoliunas has had his moments, but generally he has been disappointing and as for Mirsad Beslija, he’s another who’s been permanently injured, although we may still see the best of him this coming season.

Rumour has it that Hearts are planning to clear out a number of the Lithuanian contingent at the club this summer. I think it’s wise that Cesnauskas is one who is retained though, for the time being certainly.
