Hearts are represented in the latest Scottish Professional Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The best eleven was selected by Craig Fowler.

The performance by Don Cowie in the one nil victory over Dundee at the weekend at Dens Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Scottish League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Cowie was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the SPFL blurb read.

‘The January signing looks like he’s achieving peak match fitness as he turned in a strong showing in Hearts’ 1-0 win at Dundee. Cowie started in an unusual role on the right of midfield but he linked well with Jamie Walker throughout the match and caused the hosts a number of problems.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Cowie for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Gary Woods (Ross County), Shay Logan (Aberdeen), Dougie Hill (Alloa Athletic), Darren Dods (Brechin City), Kieran Tierney (Celtic), Don Cowie (Hearts), Jackson Irvine (Ross County), Grant Gillespie (Hamilton Accies), Michael Gardyne (Ross County), Kenny Miller (Rangers), Faissal El Bakhtaoui (Dunfermline Athletic).
