The Sunday papers had both Hearts and Rangers linked with former England right back Danny Mills yesterday.

It’s probably the usual case of the tabloids having no real stories of substance to write about and plucking them from thin air instead, but I do wonder what Hearts fans would think about
the prospect of signing someone like Mills? He was given a fair amount of stick when he played for England, but then isn’t everyone who falls short of being a world-beater?! I personally don’t think he’d be the worst signing we’ve ever seen at Tynecastle.

All very unlikely though, as despite the fact that Robbie Neilson could be destined for pastures new, Hearts are strongly expected to be replacing him with the supposedly highly-rated Pascal Mendy in the next few weeks. We also still have Tall and Karipidis to cover for that position too, although if your opinion on those two is similar to mine, your response may to this may well be along the lines of ‘so what?’!

  • He’d probably be a decent enough signing but as you say, probably just an editor somewhere inventing a story for the sake of it.
