Elliot Keen To Leave Hearts

Calum Elliot has, not surprisingly, stated his desire to leave Hearts as soon as the current managerial situations gets anything resembling a conclusion.

Elliot had a miserable season last year and ended up becoming a target for considerable abuse from a large percentage of the Hearts support. Those dishing out the treatment clearly felt that Elliot’s attitude was as big a problem as any lack of genuine ability, and regardless of whether or not this was the case, the player became so frustrated that even if his attitude hadn’t been the problem to begin with, it most certainly ended up being that way.

As a result Elliot’s heart is simply not in staying at Tynecastle, and it would definitely be best for all concerned if he did leave the club. There have been rumours lately that Inverness Caley Thistle are interested in signing him, and if this ended up happening I reckon that it would be ideal for Elliot. In my opinion the guy does have some talent, but I can’t ever see this being allowed to develop at Tynecastle, and even if it did it’s questionable whether or not he would be at the level that the supporters would accept anyway.

The player was quoted as saying:

‘I am waiting to see what is happening regarding the managerial situation at Hearts.

‘The quicker it gets done, the better it is for me because I am looking to get away. I will have to wait until the manager is in place before anything can happen.’

Sadly given how that particular saga is going at present, Calum could be in for a long wait!

How ironic that he can’t wait to leave – most Hearts fans can’t wait for him to go. If the symmetry were any more perfect I would think one of them would break into tears.

    Here Here Sir

Like all the other players, he has performed way below his potential – except his potential was probably not not that high in the first place. Mind you, he was picked on occasions by Burley, Rix and Valdas, so Frail isn’t alone in seeing something in the lad. We had all hoped that a new manager would have brought in a couple of decent strikers to at least make Calum see what he had to compete with – sadly, we appear to be back to square one on that front

On lighter note, I know SJ has seen the article, but has anyone seen the Wolves article on Berra? They make him sound like some sort of Scottish super defender… Scary stuff.

Yeah I know…….the more I see stuff like this the more I think that football is not a patch on what it used to be….at certain levels anyway. That English Championship is garbage!
