Six players have been informed they’re not part of Robbie Neilson’s future plans, as such they’ll leave Hearts at the end of the month when they officially reach the end of their Jambo contracts.

First-team players Neil Alexander, Miguel Pallardo and Blazej Augustyn have been released along with U20 youngsters Jahmal Howlett-Mundle, Sean McKirdy and Liam Henderson.

Alexander, who could be replaced by another former Scotland international Matt Gilks, leaves after two-years with Hearts with midfielder Pallardo also spending two-years with the club, Augustyn had been at Tynecastle for a year.

Talks are ongoing with Paul Gallacher about a potential player/coach role with Hearts.

If he doesn’t retire as a player Neilson is expected to keep the veteran as his no.2 with the present man in that position being youngster Jack Hamilton, who gained a Scottish call up recently, heading out on loan so another ‘keeper certainly is needed.

U20 players Howlett-Mundle, McKirdy and Henderson will all look to carve out careers elsewhere as they aim to prove Hearts wrong in releasing them, it goes without saying the club offered thanks and well wishes following their exits.
