Hearts To Face Bairns In Cup

Hearts have been drawn at home to face Falkirk in the next round of the Scottish Cup, following today’s derby win at Easter Road.

This will be the only all-SPL tie of the round so could well be selected for live TV coverage once again on the weekend of February 7/8, but there are a few third round ties to be settled before that decision is likely to be made.

A home draw is always a positive thing, but make no mistake about it this one will be tough, as Falkirk always give it absolutely everything against Hearts, which is no surprise given the fact that John Hughes is their manager!

I’m looking forward to this – should be close to if not a sell-out with a big, noisy travelling support…..and hopefully another Hearts win!

With Yogi being a Hibee, it would be very enjoyable to inflict a defeat on him. As you say, his team are capable of playing very good football and scoring goals – hopefully we will have added another striker to our squad by then, without losing Messrs Berra, Driver and Aguiar.

Not particularly happy about this – we always seem to flounder against Falkirk, especially when we play them in a cup competition. I can remember one particular day in early 1999 for example at the old Brockville…
