Kingston Sets Sights On Rangers

Hearts midfielder Larry Kingston has targeted this weekend’s match against Rangers for his comeback to the first team.

Kingston has been the subject of much controversy so far this season with his perceived lack of effort towards the Hearts cause, and more recently has annoyed his manager Csaba Laszlo by flying out to Ghana to meet up with his international team-mates despite being injured.

However as far as the latter is concerned it would appear that relations between player and coach can be restored, and Kingston is optimistic that he’ll be available for selection this weekend.

He said:

‘I am feeling good and my thigh is feeling good.

‘My aim is the game against Rangers on Saturday and I’m pretty sure I will be okay for that match.

‘It has been a frustrating few weeks for me with the niggling problem in my leg but hopefully everything is okay now and I can get back to playing football.’

Larry may be unquestionably one of the more talented footballers at Hearts, but although his comments give the impression that he’s assuming if he’s fit he’ll play some part in Saturday’s match, I’d like to think that he’ll only do so if the coaches feel that he can add more value to the team than those who’ve helped to steer Hearts to four straight victories recently. I appreciate that Rangers will be (or at least should be) a tougher test than we’ve had in recent weeks, but even still those who have come in whilst Kingston’s been on the sidelines have at the very least given it their all, something that the Ghanaian has been guilty of not doing in quite a few games this season.

It’ll be interesting to see what Csaba does if Larry is indeed available this weekend…
