Faycal Rherras is expected to complete his move to Hearts next week, although the start to his career with the club could well be delayed due to his likely participation at the Olympic Games taking place in Brazil this summer.

A free agent after leaving Belgian club Sint-Truiden this summer Rherras, a full back who can play on either flank, is expected in Scotland next week to sign a three-year deal with Hearts.

The 23-year-old, who is at a training camp with Morocco ahead of the Olympics in Rio, is viewed as a long-term option for Neilson according to the Edinburgh News and that’s why a long-term deal is being signed with him keen to secure his future before the summer games, with him finding out soon enough if he’s made the final Olympic squad.

Should he make the Morocco squad the start to his Hearts career would be delayed, which could well have been the case anyway if Neilson was aiming to ease him into the first-team picture?

Connor Sammon is another that could be confirmed as a signing shortly with talks ongoing with 36-year-old ‘keeper Paul Gallacher who is being lined up for a possible player/coach position with Hearts, which he currently hold at Partick Thistle although he is considering retiring as a player.

Additions are needed following the confirmation of six players leaving Hearts, including first-team players Neil Alexander, Miguel Pallardo and Blazej Augustyn.
