Head coach Robbie Neilson has said that the weekend’s trip to Inverness Caledonian Thistle is an opportunity for a couple of players to stake their claim.

Hearts make the trip to the Caledonian Stadium for the game on Saturday but will be without Blazej Augustyn and Igor Rossi who are both serving suspensions for the game.

With a defensive rejig on the cards, Neilson told the Official Site in his pre game press conference that for him it wasn’t a disadvantage – albeit we’d miss both of them – but an opportunity for two others to show they are worthy of the first team spot and give him a headache.

‘It`s a difficult place to go for Hearts, and every other team for that matter. It`s a difficult venue and they`re a good team that plays good football. We`ll be missing two important players in Augustyn and Rossi, but we`ve got a good squad and it`s an opportunity for players to come in and stake a claim for a starting berth the following week.’

Neilson can however welcome back Sam Nicholson, Morgaro Gomis and Jamie Walker who are all expected to return to his match day squad for the trip – but he wasn’t giving anything away about what his eventual selection for the game would be.

‘All three will be available for Saturday and if they don`t start then they`ll be on the bench.’
