Neilson’s Spanish Options

Robbie Neilson is looking to sign four or five players to boost our Premiership return, among them will be a striker to replace former loanee Genero Zeefuik, who wouldn’t be expected to return to Tynecastle.

An ‘unnamed striker’ is being spoken to with Neilson confirming this to the Edinburgh News ahead of his departure to Spain but he’s also looking to other possibilities too.

Neilson was going to watch a defender and a midfielder too, the midfielder wasn’t a priority, but it’s the striker that’s the ‘main one’ he’s talking with.

‘I’m doing a couple of things while I’m out there, meeting players and watching games

‘If we get something tied up it will be great but I expect it to be a bit later on. I’ll be over in Spain to look at a couple of players and meet some players as well. It’s a good chance to go and see some games.

‘I’m going to see a striker and a midfielder, although midfield isn’t high on my priority list. There’s a defender as well but the striker is the main one.’

Someone that’s got ‘pace and energy who scores goals, is a good character and hopefully a leader’ is what our Head Coach is after in this striker and ideally on a permanent basis too but, if needed, a loan would do.
