I’d almost forgotten Juwon Oshaniwa you know! Its seems so long since the initial rumours of an interest and also seems so long since Robbie Neilson confirmed a deal was close having seen a work permitted granted!

The final pieces of paperwork for Hearts to conclude his arrival, following his exit from FC Ashdod this summer, is something Neilson expects to go through this week.

Neilson told the Edinburgh News.

‘It’s moving all the time.

‘It’s just that it takes time to get someone in to the country – you can’t just pick up the phone and bring them over. There’s a process that has to be gone through and you have to respect that as well, so it takes time but hopefully it’ll be at some point this week. Whether that’s early or late this week I don’t know, but we’re dealing with the British and Nigerian authorities.’

The Nigerian international, who will add proven ability to our squad, will be another good addition that you expect to see him become our first choice left back this season?

It was also confirmed he plans to send some of the younger squad members out on loan again this season so they can benefit from regular first-team football, which they might not get at Tynecastle otherwise.

The likes of Gary Oliver, Liam Smith, Liam Henderson, Sean McKirdy and Leon Jones would hope to be in his plans, following the part they’ve played in pre-season, for the Scottish Premiership but some off these, more likely the latter names, are likely to go out on loan.

He added he’d be looking to move some out on beneficial loans after the Preston North End pre-season friendly.
