Miguel Pallardo has become the latest player to commit his future to Hearts back in the Premiership as he has signed a new 12 month deal at Tynecastle.

Following a successful maiden season in Scottish football, more than playing his part in our successful run to the Championship title in record break fashion with his 25 appearances, he has now extended his time with us for a further year.

Speaking to the Official Site after seeing the contract penned, head coach Robbie Neilson said.

‘I`m delighted to get Miguel signed up. He was a massive player for us last season in the Championship and he`ll play a vital part for us in this upcoming Premiership campaign. Miguel`s happy here and he`s settled. His family is over and he wanted to stay. He`s been taking language lessons and his English is coming on leaps and bounds, and he`s enjoying playing his football at Hearts, so there was a desire from all parties to get the deal done. To get a player of Miguel`s caliber over here and playing in the Championship was incredible. His last game in Spain was at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid! But he came over and did so well for us that we had to get him on board for next season.’

Speaking himself about the deal, Pallardo said that he felt our adjustment back to the top flight would certainly be helped by having a full pre season under our belts, so he was delighted to sort his deal out so quickly.

‘I am very happy to have reached a new agreement with Hearts and to be able to progress and develop with the team and Robbie for one more year. I am really happy about being able to do full pre-season with the team this year which is going to make things so much easier for me. I hope next season will be as successful as last season, we`re going to work for it to be as good as last year!’
