Igor Rossi has today penned a new contract extension at Tynecastle and is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2017.

The Brazilian centre half joined us back in mid July over the summer, and has become a stand out performer in the backline for Robbie Neilson since then, taking in 19 appearances in total (all starts) with a return of one goal in the game against Aberdeen which was a three one loss.

The 26 year old has now committed his more long term future to the club, and speaking to the Official Site after penning the deal, he couldn’t have been happier to sign on for longer having initially joined us on a one year deal.

‘I`m very happy to have signed a new contract, which will keep me here until the end of next season. The manager has shown great faith in me and I`m delighted that he wants to keep me. The team has played well so far this season and I`m happy to be getting game time, but I know we can get even better. I`d also like to thank the fans for their support. They have been very good with me and to play in front of full houses has been great. I hope that we can get another sell out on Saturday against Inverness CT and we can pick up another three points.’
