Hearts confirmed the other day that following the red card shown to Callum Paterson in the game against Hamilton at New Douglas Park at the weekend, they would be launching an appeal to have the card rescinded.

The Disciplinary Tribunal met today in accordance with the Judicial Panel Protocol to consider his sending off for serious foul play and they assessed whether it was a case of wrongful dismissal.

At the hearing at Hampden this afternoon was Craig Levein, Robbie Neilson and Paterson himself.

The panel ruled that it was a case of wrongful dismissal and the red card was rescinded and reduced to a yellow for recklessly dangerous play.

He now comes back into the head coach’s thoughts for the next match.
