Rix chasing new signings

Hearts boss Graham Rix is on the trail of some new signings for the club.

The Tynecastle club have fallen three points behind Celtic in the SPL title race and Rix is keen to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.

One of those targets is Teplice right-back Josef Kaufman according to player’s agent.

Kaufman’s agent claims that Romanov has watched his client several times and is keen to bring him to Edinburgh.

MacFarlane is keen to stay

Hearts midfielder Neil McFarlane hopes he still has a future at Tynecastle.

McFarlane’s contract is up this summer but he hasn’t featured in the Hearts team since recovering from a knee injury picked up in August.

He nearly moved to Dundee Utd in the summer but the move fell through, now he wants to win a new contract and stay at Hearts. The player has been on the bench in recent weeks.

Tough draw in Scottish Cup

Hearts were drawn against Kilmarnock in the third round of the Tennent’s Scottish Cup last Saturday.

They have home advantage however and the tie will take place on Saturday 7th January.

Hearts were held to a goalless draw against Craig Brewster’s Inverness Caley Thistle last Saturday.

It was Graham Rix’s third draw in four games for Hearts.

Hearts line-up Gordon, Neilson, Fyssas, Pressley, Webster, Cesnauskis, Simmons (Camazzola 67), Hartley, Skacel, Pospisil (Mikoliunas 84), Elliot (Jankauskas 72). Subs Not Used: MacDonald, MacFarlane, Berra, Wallace.
