Hearts’ Scottish Premiership season continued with a draw against Hamilton at New Douglas Park on Sunday.

After playing the second half, and some of the first, with only 10-men Hearts might be happy of a point at Hamilton, who had a player sent off late on too, from this nil-nil draw but the Jambos did strike the woodwork on three occasions!

Igor Rossi was shown a straight red for a two-footed challenge towards the end of the first half with Jesus Garcia Tena, who himself had come off the bench, went in the second half for another strong challenge.

With Hamilton battered eight-one by Celtic in the game prior they (as you would expect) looked to be stronger defensive quickly looking to snuff out the Hearts attack with the backline afforded stronger cover from midfield.

Rossi was denied by the post in the first half by a header with Callum Paterson’s follow up kept out by Hamilton ‘keeper Michael McGovern with him again pulling off a fine save to deny Billy King then Rossi, after a melee following his challenge, saw red for his challenge.

Down to 10-men this gave, obviously, Hamilton more belief in the second half with Mickey Devlin seeing a header kept out by Neil Alexander.

The woodwork then denied Hearts again, a counter attack saw a Alim Ozturk cross headed against the crossbar by Blazej Augustyn with Tena earning himself a straight red for his foul on Arnaud Djoum.

Again the crossbar frustrated Hearts late on when Jordan McGhee headed across goal for substitute Dario Zanatta to see his header strike McGovern’s bar once more with him having one last save to make when denying Juanma from close range with literally the last touch of the game.
