Hearts’ Scottish Premiership season continued with a latest defeat at Tynecastle against league leaders Aberdeen on Sunday.

A third successive, having won all the games prior to this, defeat was suffered by Hearts as Aberdeen won for an eighth-match in a row in the SPL! Two from Goodwillie and another from McGinn in the first half had the Dons in control with Rossi’s second half goal a consolation in a three-one defeat.

Hearts started positively, and seemed threatening but a needlessly conceded freekick by Pallardo put the Jambos under pressure. McGinn delivered a good ball but, having got a hand to it, Alexander might feel he should have done better with Goodwillie’s (9) header that put Aberdeen into the lead.

Augustyn certainly should have done better with his defending! He dived in on McGinn, out wide again, as the winger picked up the ball after initially winning and coming away with this from the edge of his own area being easily beaten allowed McGinn (23) in on Alexander with him curling home the second.

The Hearts defence was all over the place!

It got worse before the break through, again a break from their own area when Goodwillie won the ball of Buaben ended with McGinn running with the ball before giving Goodwillie (45) the chance to make it three-nil in injury-time at the end of the first half….

Head Coach Neilson made a change at the break with Nicholson coming on for Reilly.

If Hearts were to come back into the game it needed an early goal in the second half, which came through defender Rossi (52) as he smashed home a lose ball as Aberdeen failed to clear a corner.

Aberdeen ‘keeper Ward did make a good save to keep it at that score, however at the other end Hearts ‘keeper Alexander also pulled off two fine saves to keep out Pawlett and McGinn when both only had him to beat.

When Paterson smashed a 25-yard freekick against the crossbar that’s when you knew a comeback definitely wasn’t on Hearts now needing to go away, regroup and get another run, a positive run, going….
