Hearts’ Scottish Premiership season continued with a win at Tynecastle against Hamilton on Saturday.
With Hearts winning once again, with the unbeaten run extended, the gap between them and Champions Celtic was reduced to three-points – albeit only temporarily, with Celtic winning on Sunday to restore it again. Goals from Buaben and Djoum saw the Jambos to a two-nil win with a measure of revenge gained for the defeat in August.

The game, perhaps with a hangover from that last controversial meeting remaining, was scrappy to begin with and ‘ill-tempered’ at times with openings few.
But as the half hour mark approached Hearts went ahead when Buaben (27) managed to beat Hamilton ‘keeper McGovern from 25-yards, which Northern Irishman will be disappointed by not that Buaben will mind, with his effort taking a fortunate bounce.
Hearts ‘keeper Alexander made a fine save to keep the lead intact when he kept out a Morris header, which proved crucial as the Jambos doubled the lead soon after.
Nicholson picked out, with Hamilton defender Kurakins unable to cut out the pass, Sow who controlled then squared to Djoum (38) who was left with a simple finish to double the lead two with half time approaching.
Control of the game was now in Hearts’ hands and they never looked back.
Hamilton did claim a penalty when Morris went down under a challenge from Augustyn but the Accies man was instead booked for a dive with Hearts continuing to have the better, much better, of the chances.
If it hadn’t been for McGovern, who atoned somewhat for the opening goal, Hearts could have had several more goals with him making a good save to keep out a Paterson freekick in the second half.
McGovern also denied Sow, with a goal he deserved, when he made a couple of saves from the Hearts striker but the job was done.
It’s now four successive wins for Hearts and six-matches unbeaten with the international break, which might not have come at the right time for Neilson’s men, arriving with second place consolidated.
