Hearts’ Scottish Premiership season continued with a win at the Firhill Stadium against Partick on Saturday.

If Partick were able to offer more threat in the attacking areas they might have caused problems to the Hearts defence, which looks to be getting back to a solid foundation whereas the Jambos threatened with a Paterson freekick with Swanson also putting an effort wide.

Juanma (38) got the ball rolling when he finished from close range before the break, Sow collected the ball that Partick ‘keeper Scally had turned away from a freekick to cross into his strike partner who did the rest.

Half chances the hosts might have had, that didn’t get taken, were punished when Juanma returned the compliment to Sow (51), who turned his man well collecting the ball as it came back off Lindsay to him to fire past Scully for the second shortly after the break.

Another of the gems Neilson has unearthed recently was Arnaud, he went into the box with Lindsay fouling him to give Hearts the chance to make it three just past the hour with Juanma (64) making no mistake from the spot.

The Jambos continued to push forward and eventually another penalty was award, for which Patrick ‘keeper Scully was sent off for when he brought down Sow. With the hosts using all their subs Stevenson went in goal.

Sow (86) stepped up himself to complete the scoring four-minutes from time.

Momentum looks to be coming Hearts’ way again with this latest win extending the winning run and taking the Jambos above Aberdeen as they continued their own slump with a defeat at Celtic.
