Hearts’ Scottish Premiership season continued with a defeat against St Johnstone at Tynecastle on Saturday.

A poor start to the first half saw Hearts with too much to do with St Johnstone eventually running out three-nil winners as the Jambos missed the chance to close the gap on Aberdeen, who also lost.

St Johnstone were ahead when Murray Davidson got away from John Souttar to head the visitors in front on 11-minutes from Liam Craig cross.

This lead was doubled when Davidson again headed another Craig delivery past Neil Alexander, again from a corner, with 21-minutes played.

Craig was denied by the crossbar from 35-yards in the second half but Hearts were caught on the counter-attack by Darnell Fisher on 88-minutes as the visitors rounded off a win to take them up to fourth.

Defeat meant a first at Tynecastle since way back September with it also ending our four-match winning run.
