Robbie Neilson’s always on the lookout for new players he can bring to Hearts but is Jerome Thomas one of the?

The Edinburgh News has reported he’s training with Hearts at the moment, however this could be nothing more than a ‘favour’ as Thomas looks to get himself fit with him a friend, and former teammate at Crystal Palace, of Osman Sow.

He’s a long way from home though so you tend to feel the Londoner is training at Hearts with the view of earning a deal with the Jambos or at least another club in Scotland? But why would Neilson help keep him fit for a rival Scottish club!

Thomas, formerly with English topflight clubs Arsenal, Charlton, Portsmouth, West Brom and most recently Palace has been a free agent since his release at the end of last season with the winger last playing almost a year ago.

His last involvement was in an FA Cup tie with Dover in January so the 32-year-old is definitely lacking match fitness and wherever the winger ends up he’ll not be likely to play first-team football in a while?

Neilson’s shown he’s happy to give players a chance so if this is a trial his arrival couldn’t be ruled out….
