Indeed a mate of mine’s instant reaction was: ‘oh that’ll be the two hot balls picked oot the bag then!’. I can’t possibly comment on such speculation.
The game is scheduled to be played at Hampden Park on the weekend of April 1, although rumours have been doing the rounds that the SFA might consider moving it to Murrayfield. Personally I can’t see this happening, as this would make perfect sense, something that the SFA would know very little about. However if they do prove me wrong and re-schedule it for Edinburgh, it would be a magnificent occasion to look forward to. Let’s hope they do it, if only to prevent a potential warzone on the M8!
As for the draw itself, I’m actually quite glad it was Hibs at this stage. Yes an all-Edinburgh final would have been a great occasion, but could anyone really say they could look forward to it, knowing the feeling if we lost? Hmmm!
The other semi-final will be between the winners of the Hamilton-Dundee tie and Gretna, also at Hampden.

An explosive encounter is expected then. I bet both clubs would like to meet gretna in the final though.
