Former Hearts midfielder Stevie Fulton would appear to have it all worked out as far as the Tynecastle manager’s job is concerned – the club must seek to re-appoint ‘Baggio’s’ former Hearts
boss Jim Jefferies.

Fulton, who still showed he was capable of displaying some of the skills that made him a Hearts favourite during Robbie Neilson’s testimonial match a few weeks ago, thinks that Jefferies and his assistant Billy Brown are the perfect men to come in and take control of the current situation at Tynecastle. He said:

‘The answer is staring Mr Romanov in the face and that’s a return of Jim and Billy. They would be my first choice and the choice of many Hearts fans too.

‘They are still held in high regard if the reaction of fans at Robbie Neilson’s testimonial is anything to go by.

‘I hope Hearts make a move for them. They seem relatively happy at Kilmarnock but I’m sure they would relish one last big challenge to turn around Hearts’ fortunes.

‘I can’t think of anyone better equipped and while some people say you should never go back it has certainly worked out well for Walter Smith at Rangers.

‘Walter has worked with more money in his career but their positions are still comparable in that they are the same age and experience has allowed them to become more mellow and confident in their abilities.

‘After losing out on Mark McGhee, I would be surprised if Hearts don’t sound out Jim and Billy to gauge their interest.’

Really Stevie? I wouldn’t!

  • I agree with Baggio here. Levein is making all the wrong noises as I knew he would. JJ would be a step forward and allow us to cement our reputation again in order to attract a younger better manager in the future.

  • So we should have a new man within a month according to Fido, Vlad’s director, in time for pre-season training. Now does this mean all new signings, haha as if we’ll have any decent, will be through Vlad’s scouting channels? I still think we will struggle to get anyone decent even with a month of trying.
