Hearts were defeated for the first time in pre-season on Thursday when we lost at Dumbarton.

What was, primarily, a young Jambos side went to the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium to face Dumbarton with a goal in either half condemning us to a two-nil defeat.

Having played, and beaten, Raith a couple of days prior Robbie Neilson opted to field pretty much the side that ended that game with our hosts starting positively with it little surprise when they made the breakthrough with Gallagher scoring early on.

Reilly would have brought us level but for the post, with other chances passing us by before Cawley added to the Dumbarton lead and indeed securing the win.
