Hearts have made two additions so far this summer, the first to our under 20 squad and the second to the first team.

Beginning with Jack Ross, who was talking about having more an under 20 priority this year when announcing the new professional deals for five players, has added former Crystal Palace centre half Jahmal Howlett-Mundle to our ranks.

He makes the move north, subject to international clearance, following nine years in London based Crystal Palace.

Speaking to the Official Site the 18 year old explained about the move.

‘It`s been a long time coming and I couldn`t wait to get here and get started. It should be a great experience and a great journey. I was here two months ago for a week and I had a great time. Everyone welcomed me really well. My family has come up with me now that everything is signed and sealed. I just can`t wait to get started. I know that`s there`s been a lot of young players coming through the academy, and elsewhere, and Robbie and Stevie have given them the chance and Jack`s helped them to continue their development into the first-team. That`s the main reason I`m here, to continue my development and work with Hearts` first-team.’

Robbie Neilson’s first signing of the summer is Polish defender Blazej Augustyn.

We are still awaiting international clearance on the 27 year old centre half, but he made 18 appearances last year in his homeland, scoring twice and Bolton Wanderers, Legia Warsaw and Italian outfits Vicenza and Catania are counted amongst his former clubs.

Speaking himself after penning his deal, he said his focus was to help us into the top six in our return to the Premiership.

‘I`m happy to be here. It`s a great opportunity for me to play here, in front of thousands of people. Everyone is so kind and I`m happy. The only thing is that I haven`t spoken English for a long time so that`s the one thing that I have to improve…quickly! The first things are that I want to get fit, be strong and show all my good things on the pitch. With Hearts, I hope we go to the top six and we do as much as we can.’
