Hearts are represented in the latest Scottish Professional Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.
The best eleven was selected by Craig Fowler.
The performances by Igor Rossi and Arnaud Djoum in the six nil victory over Motherwell at Tynecastle at the weekend was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Scottish League pyramid.
I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why both were selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the SPFL blurb read.
Rossi:
‘The Brazilian is recognised as the safer option at left back for Robbie Neilson’s side, but he showed himself to be adept with the football in Hearts’ 6-0 win over Motherwell. He rarely wasted possession, picked out a number of good balls and even netted the opening goal.’
Djoum:
‘The midfielder helped create two goals before winning the penalty for his side’s sixth. The skills he produced to bamboozle two defenders before drawing the spot-kick were absolutely filthy.’
It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to the duo for their recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the victory.
Full Team:
Jordan Millar (Montrose), Shay Logan (Aberdeen), Peter Grant (Falkirk), Efe Ambrose (Celtic), Igor Rossi (Hearts), Arnaud Djoum (Hearts), Gary Hopkins (Dundee), Craig Slater (Kilmarnock), Barrie McKay (Rangers), Shane Sutherland (Peterhead), Leigh Griffiths (Celtic).
