In something of a surprise move in many ways Hearts have allowed Billy King to leave for a spell away from Tynecastle on loan, with him exiting for Rangers who are looking to follow in the footsteps of the Jambos in winning the Scottish Championship.

They’re currently top of the league, with the help of King they could win the title giving him a second successive title winners medal!

I’ve noticed King’s said he asked Robbie Neilson if he could go out on loan as he wanted to play more football than he had so far, making 20 appearances. Explaining the move Neilson told the Official Website with others keeping him out of the side, and with him having ‘an abundance of options’ too, he agreed to the loan exit.

‘Billy’s at a stage where he’s looking for regular game time, and that’s not something that we can guarantee at the moment. We’re fortunate to be in the position where we’ve got an abundance of options on the wing. Sam Nicholson and Jamie Walker – who’s almost at full fitness – are two of the best young players in the country and are being pushed all the way by Arnaud Djoum and Prince Buaben.’

The Head Coach went onto add Dario Zanatta coming through the set up to force his way into the first-team too has given him even more options. He will come back to Hearts though with Neilson finishing by saying as much.

‘The emergence of Dario Zanatta has given us even more options in there, so it makes sense for Billy to go out on loan to continue his development. He’ll get a run in a team that is pushing for a title, so it will benefit him in the short term and Hearts in the long run, when he comes back an even more confident player.’
