Huntly Or Dundee If Hearts Progress

Hearts will be at home to either Huntly or Dundee should they manage to win their Scottish Cup replay against Motherwell at Fir Park.

While you’d expect Dundee to be the side who’ll come through that particular tie (and that would make it a very tough draw in my opinion), the fact that Huntly are in there casts minds back a few years to when they came to Tynecastle and were beaten 6-0 in the same competition. Adrian Boothroyd……remember him?!

However, before we can seriously even think about the next round, we have the small matter of this replay at Motherwell to negotiate. It’s a hell of a difficult ask for us to get through this now in my view, although Hearts did have some encouraging spells during yesterday’s game, so it’s certainly not beyond them to progress to the next round.

Elsewhere in the draw, the potential tie of the round is Hibs V Rangers, with the Ibrox side needing to overcome East Stirlingshire to make that official. I don’t foresee any difficulties there, even if it would be rather marvellous if there were……!
