Head coach Robbie Neilson has confirmed that he’s waiting on answers from two targets that he held talks with in Spain last week.

Having taken time out of a family holiday to talk to the duo, he is hopeful he’s done enough to tempt them to Tynecastle having been back at the weekend, but he wasn’t giving anything away when it came to their names.

One of them was a striker though.

In quotes carried by the Edinburgh News he explained.

‘I went and spoke to a couple of players and it`s just waiting now to see what their decision is. It`s whether they want to come to Hearts but it was good to speak to them.’

Neilson went on to say he’d obviously sold the club, the area and his plans for the coming season and beyond but now, as always, it’s just a waiting game of sorts whilst they weigh up the move and any other offers they may have on the table.

‘We think we can improve them and I`ve seen their games. I`ve spoken to them about what I think and what they think and we`ve tried to get them to buy into it a bit. It`s trying to get them to build a relationship with you and whether they want to be involved. I`ve tried to convince them this is the best place for them to come.’

With a number of targets, potentially five being looked at in total by the gaffer as he strengthens the team for the coming Premiership campaign announcing one as a striker isn’t a great surprise irrespective of our move for Queen of the South’s Gavin Reilly, and you would think the other target is either a left back or centre back at this stage.
