Hearts are represented in the latest Scottish Professional Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The best eleven was selected by Craig Fowler.

The performance by Igor Rossi in Hearts’scoreless draw against St Johnstone at the weekend at McDiarmid Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Scottish League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Rossi was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the SPFL blurb read.

‘Hearts were forced to play the majority of their trip to St Johnstone with 10 men after Juanma saw red for a first-half head-butt. Thankfully for the visitors, Rossi and Blazej Augustyn have built up one of the country’s most formidable central defensive pairings, and it was them, and the heroics of Neil Alexander, who enabled Hearts to escape with a 0-0 draw.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Rossi for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the point given the circumstances of the game.

Full Team:

Danny Rogers (Falkirk), Stephen McManus (Motherwell), Igor Rossi (Hearts), Keith Watson (St Mirren), Shane Sutherland (Peterhead), Will Vaulks (Falkirk), Kenny McLean (Aberdeen), Andy Murdoch (Cowdenbeath), Niall McGinn (Aberdeen), Kane Hemmings (Dundee), Louis Moult (Motherwell).
