Billy Brown Linked With Hearts Job

I know, I know, this HAS to be a wind-up doesn’t it? Surely!

Quite where some of this morning’s tabloids are getting their information about Jim Jefferies’ assistant at Kilmarnock (and formerly Hearts) becoming the new manager of Hearts in the summer is anyone’s guess, but even though it would seem extremely unlikely, would anyone actually be all that surprised if this is the sort of appointment we end up with?

We really shouldn’t have much reason to expect any better to be honest, given Romanov’s track record since Burley. Just think about the air of disbelief when Graham Rix’s name was first linked with the job – very similar to what people will be saying about Billy Brown this morning I’d imagine! That happened, so….

Seriously though, if Hearts do end up with Brown or someone else of a similar ilk, I think it’s fair to say that getting a ticket for Tynecastle next season is not going to be the most difficult task in the world. In fact, I could tell you right now where one would become available for the entire season…!

Gosh – for a horrible moment, I read your headline as “CRAIG Brown linked with Hearts job” Now that I’ve calmed down a bit, its not the sort of appointment that’s going to excite the fans, is it – even if he is a “Hearts man”. Sure, he has plenty SPL experience (plus a failed stint at Bradford) – but he’s always been a “number 2”, so giving him full control as an outright manager would be a bit of a gamble. Possibly more of a gamble than persevering with Frail. The story sounds like “2+2” journalism really. They’ve already done the Jefferies and Levein links, so Billy Brown is a logical next target. Maybe Peter Houston next ?

Aye but that calibre of person is unfortunately what we could well end up with! Oh and by the way, Billy Brown is infinitely more of a ‘Hibs man’ than a Jambo!
