Juho Makela, Jose Goncalves, Bruno Aguiar and at long last, Mirsad Beslija have all joined the Romanov Revolution.

The Beslija deal has had much adverse publicity but he has finally completed his £850,000 switch from Racing Genk, which is a new Hearts record transfer fee. The Bosnian has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Makela is a 22 year-old Finnish striker who has scored 33 goals in 41 games for HJK Helsinki. He has signed on for the next three-and-a-half years for a reported £300,000.

Defender Goncalves, a 21 year-old from FC Thun and former Benfica midfielder Aguiar, 24, both impressed on trial periods at Tynecastle. They have signed for Romanov’s other club FBK Kaunas and joined Hearts on loan, a similar set-up to the arrangements with Cesnauskis and Mikoliunas.

Rumours are moving around about other possible targets being lined up before tonight’s transfer deadline, but I have a feeling that’s all they are. But you never know….

Meanwhile Hearts midfielder Paul Hartley has been hit with a three match ban after appearing before the SFA today. Hartley was effectively given a retrospective red card after an off-the-ball incident against Celtic on New Year’s Day, which also took him over the disciplinary threshold. Strangely enough the Celtic player who elbowed him beforehand has not been given similar treatment…….hmm wonder why that could be……….?!
