Gordon WILL Play Again

Despite Craig Gordon’s omission from the squad for yesterday’s match against Inverness, Valdas Ivanauskas insists that the Scotland ‘keeper is still in his plans for this season.

Steve Banks played again for Hearts yesterday and by all accounts did very well, but the fans do have a right to be told the truth about Gordon’s omission from the side. He is the top man and would be playing if it was down to ability alone. We all know that he’s been dropped because Romanov didn’t approve of him helping Pressley and Hartley criticise the club’s management, so why don’t they just come out and be honest about it? They just might get a little bit more respect from the fans if they did that.

Instead we’re being subjected to Valdas’ frankly insulting excuses that seem to wear thinner and thinner with each passing week. This time he was quoted as saying:

‘The transfer window was very hard for the young boy and the speculation about Craig was not good.

‘He was affected by the speculation but he’ll definitely play again. He doesn’t need tension every weekend.’

Meaning what exactly? He’ll play when Vladimir tells me he can play? It really is a nonsense.

Of Gordon’s omission from the squad as opposed to being on the bench, Valdas had this to say:

‘Steve Banks did well, he has not had many chances, and experience is very important in our situation.

‘With him being the Scottish number one keeper I don’t think it’s good for him to sit on the bench.

‘I believe it’s better for him to sit in the stand. He doesn’t need tension every weekend with the speculation about whether he goes here or to other teams elsewhere.

‘Now it’s important he’s ready for his next game when that comes around.’

Make of this what you will, but frankly I’m sick and tired of hearing Valdas’ rubbish. It’s insulting if he thinks that the support will swallow it now and he really should be man enough to be more honest, or if that would cost him his job, then just say nothing at all.

Don’t believe a word of what the little puppetov says anymore. As if it was in any way his decision to start with.

  • AirHearts says:

calm down… after all does it matter what he actually says when we know that he can’t say anything sensible because of Vlad?

  • StockportJambo says:

No, he should be telling the fans the truth. Am with H on this one 100% – the lame excuses & double-speak are insulting to say the least. Is he a man or a maggot? Does he think he wouldn’t get another coaching job if he spoke the truth? Say what you want about Rix, at least he told the fans what was going on. He has a footballing brain, but he’s not allowed to use it – he needs to grow a backbone or he’ll never survive in football. And Hearts will have no season ticket holders left next season.

Still in his plans…. ye to sell him at the end of the season.
I can see Romanov walking away and Hearts becoming Third Lanark of today.
