Hearts Looking To Sign Ugandan Obua

Ugandan midfield player David Obua could become new Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo’s first signing within the next few days.

Obua has already been on trial with West Ham during the closed season, but Talk 107 are reporting that the player is in Edinburgh for signing talks, and the influence of Laszlo could be key here as the pair have worked together in the past.

Hearts are in desperate need of fresh talent to start filling some of the considerable gaps that exist in their squad, and although Obua’s predominant position of midfield (he can also play left back) is perhaps not an immediate priority for the club, if he is a player of quality, then we have to be happy to bring him in.

Hearts are reportedly keen to get any deal agreed soon so that Obua can join the squad for their pre-season tour of Germany.

Seems positive as this isn’t a Romanov player. Also there doesn’t seem to have been too much mentioned about him recently. The club appointed Laszlo without Romanov speaking to him first, allegedly, and a player from a non-eastern european team is in talks with us. Seems good, maybe too good…. What’s the catch?

I hope the Ugandans are better than the Lithuanians.

To get Romanov’s approval, maybe Csaba had to tell him he wanted to sign a player called Davidas Obuauskas

Such cynical comments, gentlemen…whatever has gotten into you?!

Beer probably. Beer and possibly some of that strange Dutch tobacco. Who can say. Anyway, its been reported that he’s signed for Hearts, so we’ll find out soon enough if he’s any good or not.
