Hearts’ Miko May Require Op

Hearts winger Saul Mikoliunas could potentially be on the sidelines for longer than first feared after sustaining a knee injury at Love Street last week.

Miko took the brunt of a blocked challenge from Saints’ John Potter, but although it looked a sore one at the time, club specialists initially didn’t feel that it was serious enough to merit going under
the knife.

However that diagnosis would appear to be up for further debate now, and with Deividas Cesnauskas also out injured at the moment and Larry Kingston’s Hearts career in doubt, Csaba is understandably concerned about the situation. He said:

‘We have not made a decision yet but this week the player (Miko) will speak with the doctors and specialists and decide whether to have an operation or not. We cannot think about his services for a long time. His knee injury is more complicated but I hope he is back by the end of December. He is consulting with the doctors back in Lithuania to decide what happens.’

‘Cesnauskis needs about two or three weeks to come back. He is progressing okay’

So….another winger to be brought in this January per-chance?

Psst. I’ve got a winger for you. Bosnian he is. Fastest man in Europe they say. He’ll only cost about 1.2M Euros to buy, and will take £1.4M in wages. But he’ll make a cross against Dundee Utd in a game we’ll lose heavily. Bargain. (I worry about Hearts buying players these days… get well soon Miko!)

Miko has always been one of these players I have found hard to like or loathe. It’s a shame really as he was playing reasonably well in a poor team. I know the league position says they aren’t a poor team but struggling to a win against Hamilton or St Mirren (Okay Rangers and Celtic have struggled too but don’t every game) does not fill me with confidence.

Yes – Miko was doing ok this season, starting to look like he was actually part of a team instead of just dribbling and giving the ball away. Interesting that he is back in Lithuania for diagnosis – maybe its easier to get an appointment with your GP over there !!
As for the news that Cesnauskis will be ready to come back soon ….. don’t get me started.
