Initially Hibs looked favourites to sign the player but as soon as Graham Rix, his former manager at Oxford, showed an interest, Hackett’s preferred option became Hearts. It is understood that subject to a medical, he will sign for a fee of around £20,000.
Hackett is another right winger and with the deal to sign Beslija still supposedly not dead, you have to assume that Mikoliunas and/or Cesnauskis will be moving on soon. Both have had their moments but neither have had a consistent run of form…..Miko’s loan period is up this week so it’s not looking good for him.
Other news: Hearts have agreed to let Neil MacFarlane and Stephen Simmons leave the club. No real surprises there – MacFarlane was a solid enough player but Brellier is of a much higher standard and if Aguiar is signed, then MacFarlane won’t even be first back-up. As for Simmons well, he’s had injury problems but for me his attitude never seemed to be quite right…..perhaps a new club is best for all concerned.

just what sort of player are we getting ? hackett 20,000 and the lad from yeovil 60,000. perhaps they are cover players who may be on the bench most weeks.however lets judge them on their ability first.
