Hearts’ Tullberg Injured Again

We really shouldn’t have been surprised at the news that Hearts striker Mike Tullberg has suffered yet another setback on his road to recovery, but hearing about it today was still something of a dissappointment nonetheless.

Just what is it that’s been happening at Hearts that is responsible for so many players being injured in recent years? I’ve never witnessed anything like it at our club.

And what is it about those who are in the ‘perennially injured’ category, that always seem to be complaining of the most trivial of things, for example a ‘sore leg’ like Larry Kingston?! In years gone by it would generally have taken a hell of a lot more than this to prevent players being available for selection, and while this was perhaps not always an advisable attitude with the potential for greater injury always being a risk, it does annoy me that players nowadays seem quite happy to sit on the sidelines and take their money, making no apparent effort to get back into the team as quickly as they can.

In Tullberg’s case he was always a bit of a strange signing to be honest. He was already injured when Csaba took a look at him in the summer, and indeed it was this current problem that prevented him from being able to turn out in earnest in any of the pre-season matches. Yet the club still saw fit to sign him? Bizarre to say the least, especially from a company said to be tightening the purse strings in relation to players’ wages.

Taxi for Tullberg in January methinks…..

Honestly it’s like listening to Ibrox in the 90’s, Prodan and Rosenthal spring to mind. We need to get rid of players who get injured playing Fifa 09 on a games console.
