Hearts V Aberdeen

Hearts face Aberdeen in the Capital tomorrow after the most frantic week of transfers in the club’s history.

The home side have ten out of their eleven new faces available for selection if need be, so it will be very interesting to see what Graham Rix does, especially after the excellent win over Hibs last week.

Aberdeen have had a difficult season and have suffered from a number of injuries to key defensive players lately. Their recent record at Tynecastle is very poor to say the least, but this is a cup tie and on their day Aberdeen are a match for most teams, as the occasional result has proved this season.

Another sell-out crowd will descent upon Gorgie tomorrow….here’s hoping that Jimmy C will be summoning up all his usual excuses at around 5pm!

Hearts Team News:

Captain Steven Pressley is available again after suspension and should replace Christophe Berra in defence.

Paul Hartley begins his three match ban tomorrow so Lee Johnson is expected to keep his place, with Beslija likely to make his debut on the right wing.

There could be any number of other changes with all these new guys in the squad – only Chris Hackett is unavailable through injury, so we’ll watch with interest….!

Player to watch: Rudi Skacel

On fire against Hibs last week and is likely to be a big threat again tomorrow.

Aberdeen Team News:

Aberdeen’s injury list still looks quite bad, but Zander Diamond and Kevin McNaughton will take late fitness tests to try and make it. New signing Ferne Snoyl is expected to be in the squad.

Player to watch: Jamie Smith

Had a fine game the last time the sides met and scored an excellent goal. The former Celtic man will be a handful if he’s in the mood.
