Striker James Keatings marked his return to first team action in the game against Alloa by grabbing his tenth goal of the season.

Our top scorer grabbed his sixth goal in eight appearances, and for him he told the Official Site that the four one victory was the perfect response to our last defeat, and first defeat in the league campaign.

‘We were never focusing on any run of games, or undefeated record. It’s just good for us to bounce back with a win after last week’s defeat. People just assumed this was just another game for us, but it was so difficult.’

Keatings went on to say that the astroturf surface was an ‘absolute nightmare’ to play on as the bounce of the ball isn’t natural or what players are used to so you have to be very careful or you can easily get caught out by not being in a position to deal with an awkward bounce or an unexpected bounce, so winning by that margin gave everybody a boost and left them proud following their efforts across the 90 minutes.

With the gap at the top of the table being 16 points, Keatings also confirmed that we are aware they have games in hand, but we can’t worry about them or what they are doing – we’ve got 14 games and it’s in our hands, so we just have to focus on doing what we can and not worry about anybody else in the league as we try and secure promotion back to the Premiership and hopefully as Champions.

With Keatings being left out of the starting line up last game and admitting it came as a bit of a shock and did leave him disappointed, he knows he couldn’t have responded any better to that than by scoring himself again.

‘The gaffer didn’t play me last week and I respect that choice, all I can do is make the most of my time on the pitch. I came off the bench last week and scored and I got my chance today and scored again. It’s what the manager wants me to do, it’s why I’m picked and it’s what I love doing.’
