Hearts fought back from one goal down for the second week running to earn a valuable point in the Championship race.

A late penalty strike by Paul Hartley saved the day when it looked like the three points were going to slip away.

Mothewell took the lead in the 40th minute, the goal coming from on loan Rangers defender Brian McLean. McLean finished from four yards from a set piece, it is McLean’s first goal for the club.

Motherwell had the best of the first half while Hearts improved after half-time. Skacel had the best chance of the second half when he found himself free in the box but his shot was blocked by Stephen Craigan.

It looked like Motherwell had done enough but in the 90th minute Hearts earned a penalty when Motherwell scorer McLean brought down Webster in the box. The ref pointed to the spot and Paul Hartley drilled the ball home to give Hearts a share of the spoils.
