Head coach Robbie Neilson has said he was delighted with two nil victory over Motherwell in our last game.

A goal in each half from Reilly and King made it three for three for Hearts on their return to the Premiership and whilst there’s a long way to go in the season, sitting pretty in top spot is certainly the kind of confidence boost everyone wanted.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, a proud gaffer was quick to temper expectations.

‘There is still a long way to go as we are only three games in and we can’t be getting carried away with ourselves. Everyone wants to come and see teams that win and that’s what we are trying to do. First of all it’s about working hard. I was really pleased over the piece and we were fairly comfortable. But we have spoken already about getting geared up for Saturday against Ross County.’

Neilson went on to say that nobody in the dressing room is talking about points, results or the league table as it’s just far to early for that to happen – so whilst we can take confidence from our start to the year we have to keep our current focus on point and make sure we do all we can in each individual game and then the table will take care of itself as we head through the season.

What was also pleasing for him though is he knows that the team still has improvements to make and many of those will come with more games on there own.

‘We have quality players and we had the luxury of Jamie Walker on the bench and that’s the reason we have a big squad. I could also send Juanma on for half an hour. There will be more to come once we get fitter, someone like Osman Sow is a bit behind as he missed a bit of pre-season but he worked so hard for the team but he still has a bit to go. Juanma is the same as is Igor Rossi so there is still a lot more to come from us, we`ve not hit top gear yet.’

Certainly a fine start, and just have to keep it going as long as we can now but three games in with tough matches still to come, we will have hiccups along the way.
