Head coach Robbie Neilson has said that nobody at the club will be taking anything for granted now that we know the lay of the fixtures for the coming Premiership campaign.

Speaking to the Official Site with it known we face St Johnstone on the opening day of the 2015-16 season, the gaffer explained that it was a tough start, with games against Dundee and Motherwell to follow, but these are the games we want to be involved with so we have to rise to the challenge and earn our victories.

‘You`ve got to remember that we`re a Championship team who have been promoted and playing against three established Premiership clubs. We need to make sure that we prepare properly for them and try and get the victories. We won`t take anything for granted against these teams. We must make sure that we earn our three points.’

With St Johnstone involved in the Europa League, Neilson went on to say that rather than it being a distraction for them, it will help them on the competitive fitness front so we have to make sure that we are on the ball and prepared for them.

‘St Johnstone`s involvement in the Europa League adds a different dimension to it. They`ll have had a few games so it`s important that we prepare ourselves properly and that we play the game at a good tempo. If we have a good work-rate then I`m sure we`ll be ready for them.’

Having won the Championship title last season, Neilson knew we would open with a home game to unfurl the flag but anticipation is now certainly growing for the coming season.

‘We knew we were going to get a home fixture because we won the Championship last year so we get the flag presented to us. I`m sure it`ll be a great day. Hopefully we`ll get a full house and hopefully we`ll get the victory as well that can set us off for a good start to the season.’
