Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has amazingly had an appeal against a two-match touchline ban upheld by the SFA.
Csaba went crazy in the aftermath of the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at Tynecastle in October, which ended controversially when the referee overturned an initial decision to award Hearts a penalty late in the game, after his linesman advised him that Michael Stewart hadn’t in fact been fouled by Dons goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.
However despite going onto the field of play and remonstrating excitedly with the fourth official, the SFA would appear to have some sympathies with Csaba after today’s hearing, and have hence overturned the ban.
Is this unprecedented in the Romanov era I wonder? A Hearts representative having an initial ban or fine completely overturned? Could be, and I’m actually a little bit worried about this……….just what are the SFA preparing behind closed doors that will hit our club firmly in the short and curlies in the not-too-distant future by way of retribution? The mind boggles, but perhaps we should just be thankful for small mercies in the meantime……….!

I wonder if the 4th official will face any retribution as a result of this for attacking Csaba with a numbers board…
Of course he wont.
Interestingly, the SFA are abandoning the practice of publicising such hearings in advance – preesumably so they can sweep events like the recent Tom Murphy comments from Walter under the carpet ? As for the 4th official guy that waved the numbers board at Csaba ……. I suspect we’ll be “in for it” when he next refs one of our games.
John McKendrick was the 4th official apparently – not sure if he’s an SPL ref yet. Based on his performance at the end of the Dons game, he’s likely to get a promotion soon, though.
