Midfielder David Obua has come to the defence of captain Michael Stewart, following Saturday`s show of displeasure from the fans as he left the field.

He said – ‘It is very difficult because the majority of these people who were booing don’t even know the whole situation.

‘Michael didn’t train at all last week, he twisted his ankle on Monday and was limping about for most of the week. But he came into the club on Saturday and gave his best, because he is the captain of the team and the leader of the team. If the fans are going to boo the leader, then why don’t they look at us, too”.

Hmmm? from what I could tell on Saturday, most fans were indeed “looking” at you, David !!

He added – ‘I’m not going to protect anyone just for the sake of it, but he is my team-mate and I think people should know what has happened. He did what he could – and obviously it wasn’t enough for the fans”.

‘There was a lot of frustration because we didn’t win the game and they took it out on him but I think it was really harsh. They’re our fans, though, so what can we do about it?’

Well ?. how about putting in more effort and practising your ball control and shooting, David ?

Meanwhile manager Csaba Laszlo has revealed that Laryea Kingston didn`t feature on Saturday because – wait for it – he was injured. Laszlo said: ‘Larry told me that he was injured and that he had a hamstring injury so he could not even be on the bench. If the player has an injury then I cannot tell him that he must play”.

Hmmm?. so does that mean that Stewart volunteered to play, despite being injured? and Csaba agreed ?

Confused ? Me too?..

Thanks for that Obua I look forward to your next constructive input on HMFC matters. Now back to the main point in this article. Csaba choosing to play players that clearly are not fully recovered from injury. I’m sure this has been mentioned before on vital. Nade, Wallace, Driver, Kingston (?) and now Stewart it seems are all being put in to first team football when not fully fit. Would Csaba like to explain the situation here. How long before Eggert is back? Sooner rather than later I’d guess.
