Warnock Interested In Hearts

Former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has publicly stated his interest in a possible move to Hearts if the club were to make an approach for his services.

Warnock only left United very recently after deciding that it was time for a new challenge and if he did end up at Hearts, that’s exactly what he’d get when you consider what his bosses are like! As many have suggested already, the prospect of Warnock and the Romanovs working together has the word ‘powderkeg’ written all over it.

However I’m not sure that Romanov would even look in Warnock’s direction. He sounds to me like far too strong a character for Romanov to want to appoint, especially considering what happened with George Burley.

I have to say though, I would not be disappointed if Warnock did come to Hearts. He’s probably the sort of character that the dressing room needs: a big charismatic guy who could get everyone pulling in the right direction.

Warnock had this to say on the prospect of a move to Hearts:

‘I love Edinburgh. My wife would love me to go there and if Hearts came looking for a manager, it would most certainly interest me.’

I think he’d be a popular appointment, but I can’t see him being the sort of guy that Romanov wants. I’d like to be proved wrong, though..
